There is an interesting custom still observed at Holy Trinity Church, Cuckfeld, of having a parochial tea, known as a 'Trinity Tea,' for parochial workers. According to the Vicar, this custom is said to have derived from the time when church and town were closely linked together in the 'daily round and common task’ and the jollity and feasting of the annual Cuckfield Fair naturally had its rellgious aspect with a service in church and probably the ringing of the church bells.
