CUCKFIELD CLOCK.
To the Editor of The Mid-Sussex Times.
Dear Sir, lt was reported recently in Brighton that the inhabitants of Findon had raised the sum of meet the cost of putting the village clock in going order. Cuckfield, as a town (by charter), might surely follow the example of Findon, rather than remain content to leave the town clock derelict for the duration of the war!
It is, of course, possible that Cuckfield may wish to emphasise the fact that, as a town, it is now only a shadow of its former self, and also may wish dissociate itself from its more go-ahead young daughter, Haywards Heath.
Yours faithfully,
AQUILA Cuckfield.
