AN ENJOYABLE EVENING was spent in the Queen’s Hall on Wednesday by nearly a hundred persons, the occasion being a Cinderella dance. It was arranged by Mr. and Mrs. Morfee, of the King’s Head Hotel, in aid of the funds of the Horticultural Society, which attains its jubilee next year.
Although the stormy weather militated against the complete success of the affair, the Society will benefit to the extent of £1 3s. The Cuckfield Town Band (under Bandmaster J. Gasson) played the dance music, and the M.C.’s were Messrs. Mitchell and Pollard. Light refreshments were served the Council Chamber, the catering being satisfactorily carried out by Mr. and Mrs. Avery.
