An “Off” Race Against Time.

—It was announced in the Brighton press that Mr. Frederick Searle intended riding from Brighton to Cuckfield on Saturday week in one hour on his new tricycle “Cripper." The distance is 14 miles.

The race, however, did not take place, Mr. Searle being too unwell to undertake the journey. Mr. Thompson, of the Brighton Bicycle Works, was backing time against Mr. Searle, who, of course pays forfeit.
