1885: Dog cart overturns

Scene recreated by Bing Image Creator using AI

A very narrow escape from accident was experienced on Tuesday last by Mr Tulloch and two young ladies residing at Slaugham Park. They were driving in a dog-cart past Slough-place when one of the wheels disengaged from the axle, and the trio found themselves being precipitated to the ground. Fortunately they did not lose their presence of mind, but speedily leaped from their seats, and thus saved themselves from bodily injury. Some of Mr. Wyatt's men promptly rendered assistance, and soon replaced the vehicle's missing appliance, after which the affrighted parties proceeded homewards without encountering further mishap.
