CUCKFIELD. Destructive Horse.—On Thursday last a horse was being put in a dogcart at the King’s Head Stables for the Rev. J. C. B. Fletcher, and just as the shafts were being adjusted the horse bolted out of the yard passing up High-street, where it collided with phaeton standing outside the Post Office, belonging to Mr. E. J. Davis, of Brookside, Staplefield.
It then turned round, and ran its shoulder against the lamp-post standing at the comer of Ockenden lane, smashing it all to pieces, after which it was secured at the top of Church-street, and put to its legitimate duties
