CUCKFIELD. Winding up old Benefit Clubs.— Both the White Hart and Ship Clubs have come to a close after lingering along until quite worn out. The Ship shared their funds on Wednesday se’nnight, and after having existed 92 years, came to a natural conclusion. The other club also collapsed last week, and the small balance in hand was given to Daniel Goatcher, who has been a pensioner on the funds nearly ever since its commencement.
There are two Odd Fellows Lodges of the Manchester Unity in the parish, one at the Rose Crown and the other at the Liverpool Arms, both of which are strong and flourishing.
