A meeting of the Trustees and Managers of the Cuckfield Savings' Bank, recently held, it was resolved, 'That the establishment of Post Office Banks in Cuckfield and its neighbourhood renders unnecessary and undesirable the continuance of the Cuckfield Savings’ Bank; that its existence seems to obstruct the progress of a public improvement, instead of, as heretofore, conferring a benefit upon the inhabitants of the district; that the Bank therefore cease to receive any fresh deposits front the 20th November; that it be open at the usual hours, under the usual regulations, for the repayment and the transfer to the Post Office Bank of the the deposits and interest, until the 20th
May next and after that - date all applications to be addressed to the Treasurer, the Rev. TA Maberly, at Cuckfield Vicarage.
