As Mr and Mrs Borrer, jun., were driving through Cuckfield on Thursday; Mr Borrer’s pointer was attacked by a large dog, and a fight took place. Mr Borrer alighted from his chaise to separate the animals, when the pony started off.
In endeavouring to catch the reins, Mr Borrer was thrown, and holding by the step and the wheel, which he skidded, was dragged some distance, when the pony was stopped by Mr Fearon’s coachman. Mrs Borrer, though much alarmed, kept her seat; and Mr Borrer escaped with a few bruises to his person, and some damage to his clothes.
