One day last week a girl, aged about 18 years, servant to a widow at Cuckfield, in Sussex, complained of indisposition, and went to bed; the mistress. who humanely attended her, told her the pains of which she complained seemed to resemble those of a woman in travail; the girl declared it impossible for her disorder to be of that description; but the mistress having still her doubts, left the room for about half an hour, when she returned, and stripping off the bed-clothes, found the young noviciate delivered of a fine female infant, which she ordered to be taken proper care of, and afterwards discovered it to be her own grandchild.
